Global Flatline by Aborted is a 2012 deathgrind album by the band Aborted. It is 14 tracks long, totaling 47 minutes of music. Across these 47 minutes, the band delivers an absolutely unforgiving deathgrind sound, with vocals to match. This album delivers deathgrind melodies which will fill your headphones with fast-paced instrumental work; fast drums, fast guitar, everything.
The album has just the right kind of screaming vocals to not suffer from the same fate as Anaal Nathrakh’s Endarkenment did. Or maybe my music taste has changed since Jobie Reviews Music 5. Nevertheless, you just can’t argue with vocals this powerful. The vocals, like I said earlier in this review, go along perfectly with the high-speed sound the band delivers.
Sadly, despite everything I’ve just said, the album still suffers from being slightly outside my taste in music. Although I can appreciate the album, I probably won’t be listening to any songs from it again. Don’t get me wrong, these songs are good - but it probably wouldn’t be the first thing I reach for when deciding what to listen to. I’d have to be in a certain mood to really want to listen to any tracks from this album.
Some of my favorite tracks from this album include “Global Flatline”, “Endstille”, “The Origin of Disease”, and “Vermicular, Obscene, Obese”.
Overall, Global Flatline delivers on the high-energy, monstrous vocals you’d expect from a deathgrind album. However, it doesn’t exactly align with my music taste. Even so, still, give this one a listen if you’re a fan of the genre. Even if you aren’t a fan of the genre, it’s sure to be an interesting listen.
