The F-Ups, released in 2004, is the F-Ups first album. There are 12 tracks in the album, spanning nearly 30 minutes of music.
The album features punk rock/pop punk elements, with the most popular song on the album being “Lazy Generation”, a song today’s generation can relate to as well.
Aside from the track Lazy Generation being good, “Look At Your Son Now” is pretty good as well. The quality of tracks varies throughout the album, with some tracks being decent and others being quite good. The unexpected guitar solo in, “All the Young Dudes” is pretty nice as well.
“Falling Down” is actually a pretty decent track, with the instrumental work sounding really nice!.
“Wrong the Right”, although very repetitive, has good enough instrumental work that it saves it from being a bad track. Decent.
“Told You So” is slightly reminiscent of the music Rise Against makes, which is a good thing!
The rest of the tracks are pretty decent, with the exception of “No, No, No” I’m not sure what it is, but this track is just kinda lackluster compared to all the others. I feel like it’s mainly the mediocre lyrics that makes me not like it that much.
“Crack Ho” is also a less than decent track, with the lyrics also suffering here.
Overall rating: Has a lot of decent and good tracks, with a few outliers. If you liked “Lazy Generation”, or like punk rock in general, you’ll probably somewhat enjoy the full album.
7.8/10
