Jobie Reviews Music 113: Through the Chaos (album) by Hypernova. Requested by F63.

Through the Chaos is a 2010 new wave album by the band Hypernova. It is 10 tracks long, spanning 35 minutes of music. The album is notable for its high quality indie-esque sound, with mellow melodies being at the forefront of the 10 track album. They’re brought to life with the incredible instrumentation that this album has, along with the album’s signature vocals.

Each track delivers a mellow, laid-back sound, which goes with lead singer King Raam’s vocals excellently. This mellow instrumentation, however, doesn’t hold back the album when it attempts to deliver a message. That’s one thing I forgot to mention about this album - some of the tracks (akin to other bands which took inspiration/derived from punk rock) have political messages that are part of the song’s lyrical themes. No matter what your stance on the issues discussed, they’re delivered effectively with the instrumentation this album presents.

The album, all the way from its first track, “Universal”, to its last track, “See the Future”, consistently delivers material which is definitely repeat worthy. With addicting sound and catchy choruses, the album delivers in every department. Its accessible sound makes this album very easy to get into, each track having the same sound throughout. You really can’t hate this album.

My favorite tracks from this album are “Viva La Resistance”, “American Dream”, “With You”, and “See the Future”.

Overall, Through the Chaos is sure to be an album the average listener will enjoy. The accessible (but great!) sound, coupled with the mellow nature of most of the tracks on the album, are certain to make this an album that will be enjoyed. There’s really nothing wrong with this album!
