Инстинкт Агрессивности (Instinct Aggressiveness) is a 2018 Russian rock album by the band Mongol Shuudan. It is 15 tracks long, encompassing 1 hour and 9 minutes of music. The album is notable for one of the most aggressive Mongol Shuudan albums to date, with the first track, “Седьмой патрон”, starting off the album with an aggressive, verging-on-hard-rock kickass track which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The album also incorporates a few elements that you’d expect to find in progressive rock, with trumpets and a twinge of funk elements being present on certain tracks in the album.

The band’s signature style returns aggressive as ever, reminiscent of their style in 2011’s “Естественный отбор”. The album begins and ends with an aggressive style, which both the instrumentation and vocals of this album support. The lead singer’s vocals are well-delivered, making each track an enjoyable listening experience.

The variety of instruments that are harnessed in the album’s tracks, a staple since the band’s first album, “Locomotive-Anarchy”, is quite impressive. As mentioned earlier, the album makes use of trumpets and funk instruments, which adds some flavor to the aggressive instrumentation. These additions work surprisingly well with the style that Mongol Shuudan presents, mixing in flawlessly with the energetic guitar and drums.

It’s also worth noting that the track “Хаос по округе” is closer to the band’s style on the album “Locomotive-Anarchy”, being one of the less aggressive tracks on the album. The track still follows the band's more recent style, with more refined instrumentation being present in the track’s runtime.

The very last track of this album, “Не моя забота”, ends the album in a spectacular way. Mongol Shuudan delivers one last track (which follows in the same vein as the previous 14 tracks, having the same aggro style as the rest of the album), which has a great section at the end of its runtime. Great ending to a great album.

My favorite tracks from this album are “Седьмой патрон”, “Диверсант”, “Комсомольское сердце”, and “Винтик’.

Overall, Инстинкт Агрессивности is a great rock album. The band delivers an aggressive style, intertwined with trumpets and funk instruments which add musical flavor to the already great tracks. These elements work fantastically with the energetic guitar and drums, enhancing the quality of the instrumentation that the album contains. From its first track to its very last, the album delivers in every department that it needs to, making for an all-round enjoyable listening experience.
