Гуляй Поле Реанимация is a 2020 rock album by Russian band Mongol Shuudan. It is 16 tracks long, spanning 53 minutes and 53 seconds. Mongol Shuudan once again proves that they can create incredible folk-laced rock melodies, even after 31 years of pumping out some great rock tunes. The band has especially gotten better in recent years, with 2018’s Инстинкт Агрессивности, in particular, cementing the band’s status as one of the greatest anarcho-rock bands to date.

Those familiar with Mongol Shuudan’s previous album are sure to notice the continued injection of folk-typical elements, such as the moderately prominent trumpet present on most (but not all) of the album’s 16 tracks. These elements continue to work well on this album, adding variety to the already fantastic guitar instrumentation present on the album.

On that note, the guitar-focused instrumentation is, in true Mongol Shuudan fashion, fast-paced and packed with some absolutely amazing riffs! For this reason, not a single second of this album feels tiresome to listen to, with the genuinely interesting riffs adding lots of flavor to the album. Though Mongol Shuudan already showcased a similar sound on their 2018 album Инстинкт Агрессивности, it’s somehow even better on this album!

Frontman Валерий Скородед’s vocals match the flawless instrumentation presented on the album very well, making the fast-paced guitar melodies highly enjoyable to listen to.

There are, of course, numerous minor details and quirks that I could talk about, but I will only be talking about two of these minor details. The first is the intro to the album, which is an orchestral melody that allows for a smooth transition into track two. The second is the usage of a piano in the track “Дальняя Дорога”, which is quite rare in a Mongol Shuudan track. Though these two details are relatively minute, they add some more variety to the album, which is always a nice thing for any album to have.

My favorite tracks from this album are “Гуляй Поле”, “На Белом Коне”, "Песня Белого Анархиста”, “Знамёна”, and “Целка”.

Overall, Гуляй Поле Реанимация is another fantastic album from the anarcho-punk band. From the album’s killer riffs to its fast-paced guitar instrumentation, you simply can’t go wrong with this album. At no point during the album’s 53 minute and 53 second runtime did I feel as if a track was bad/not as good as other tracks on the album. For this reason, and many more, I consider Гуляй Поле Реанимация to be one of the best albums from an anarcho-punk band that I’ve heard so far, and I’m sure those reading will think so as well.
