Паровоз анархия реинкарнация is a 2019 punk rock album by Mongol Shuudan. It is 15 tracks long, spanning 46 minutes and 15 seconds. The album is a remake of the band’s 1989 album, Паровоз-анархия. Compared to the original, this reimagining of the album contains dozens more riffs, more aggressive and energetic guitar instrumentation, and better vocals.
The overall sound of each of the album’s tracks is leagues better than the original, which owes itself to the vast amount of improvement that the band has undergone since their 1989 debut album. The sound of the album is closest to the band’s 2018 album Инстинкт Агрессивности (a major turning point for the band’s sound - see Jobie Reviews Music 143 for more information), due to the aforementioned instrumentation present throughout the album.
The album, despite my categorization of it as a punk rock album, can sometimes lean towards other genres as well (like Most Mongol Shuudan albums). The track “Шабаш на Лысой Горе”, for example, has an intro that verges on being an intro to an electronic metal song. Elements such as these are what make the album, as well as Mongol Shuudan themselves, stand out from similar sounding music out there.
Despite its status as a remake of the original, the album adds a ton of its own elements to the original. In addition to more aggressive instrumentation (as mentioned previously), the album includes 3 original tracks. These original tracks match the quality of the rest of the album, fitting in perfectly with the other material presented on the album. It should be noted, however, that the track “Введение” serves merely as an intro to the album, meaning there are only truly 2 new songs on the album.
My favorite tracks from this album are “Паровоз Анархия”, “Анархический Батальон”, “Мама Анархия”, and “Шабаш на Лысой Горе”.
Overall, Паровоз анархия реинкарнация is an excellent remake of 1989’s Паровоз-анархия, building and improving on the original in every way. From the vastly superior instrumentation to the more aggressive nature that the album takes on, this remake of the retro album is well worth listening to, especially if you liked the original version.
