Jobie Reviews Music 28: Based and Redpilled (album) by TzarBombah

Based and Redpilled is a 2020 rock album by TzarBombah. The album contains 15 tracks, totaling 40 minutes of music. During its 40 minute run time, TzarBombah sings about some very “based and redpilled” subject matters, including fat people, cops, hating weeaboos, and more.

Despite its title, the album manages to stay serious with its punk-like sound which is reminiscent of older bands of its kind. The instrumental work contained within the tracks is awesome, with fast punk melodies and fitting vocal work from the lead vocalist. The album manages to send its message effectively using this sound, with the powerful guitar being a backdrop to the very “based” and “redpilled” lyrics that the track contains.

There is no one track that triumphs the others, but I would suggest listening to “The Porn Industry” to get a feel about what the album sounds and feels like.

The album mainly bases itself in the culture of calling things “based and redpilled” if they don’t fit established cultural perceptions. This is the reasoning behind tracks like “Women Aren’t Funny”, and “I Hate Fat People”, which some online would say are very “Based and Redpilled”. Again, despite this premise (that I deduced from the title), the album manages to be a banger from the first track to the very last.

Overall, Based and Redpilled is a nice commentary on “Based and Redpilled” cultural statements. The album has a fantastic punk rock sound (which I love) and lyrical themes you probably won’t find anywhere else.
