S/T is a 2013 punk rock album by Joyce Manor. The album contains 10 tracks, with a relatively short runtime. However, in this short period, Joyce Manor demonstrates an excellent punk rock sound which never falls flat in any department. The vocals, instrumental work, and the general sound of this album are all done well, making this album a pleasure to listen to.
The album has many great tracks, but some highlights include, “Leather Jacket” (which includes a rather awesome ending), “Ashtray Petting Zoo”, and “Constant Nothing”.
The album explores many lyrical themes, mainly about everyday things one might experience in life (see “Orange Julius” for a slightly gloomier track). Other tracks, such as “Ashtray Petting Zoo”, are more simplistic in nature, but never effect the quality of the track in any way.
Overall, Joyce Manor establishes a punk rock reminiscent of bands such as TzarBombah, making for a great listen for punk rock fans!
Overall rating:
8.7/10
