Jobie Reviews Music 31: M.I. (album) by Masked Intruder. Requested by F63.

M.I. is a 2014 rock album by the band Masked Intruder. The album contains 13 tracks, spanning 30 minutes in total. The album, within its 30-minute runtime, manages to be quite good, The album mainly revolves around themes of what you could call a “Masked Intruder” trying to pursue one of the girls he met while committing crimes. Despite the rather unconventional approach to lyrical themes, the songs manage to be catchy, and actually enjoyable to listen to.

I had listened to a few of Masked Intruder’s songs prior to this review, with my first full album being the 2012 self-titled album “Masked Intruder”. Just like in that album, Masked Intruder keeps their established rock sound with lyrical themes that are similar to that album.

Some highlights from this album include, “I Fought The Law”, “Crime Spree”, and “Don’t Run Away”. But perhaps the best part about this album is that even though Masked Intruder has kept this sound since Masked Intruder, it hasn’t gotten stale in the slightest. In fact, it might even be better on this album.

Overall, M.I. accomplishes the goal of being an enjoyable rock album with ease, having great overall sound, and remaining interesting throughout its entire runtime. This remains true, from “I Fought The Law”, all the way to “Locked And Lonely”. This album manages to accomplish this, even with the bizarre premise in mind! I recommend listening to this album if you like rock that matches this sub-genre!
