Jobie Reviews Music 48: Aina on notkosta noustu (album) by Timo Koivusalo. Requested by F63.

Aina on notkosta noustu is a 1995 Finnish folk album by Timo Koivusalo. It contains 11 tracks, spanning 40 minutes of music. The album has a very chill, relaxing vibe to it, which owes itself to the genre and the beautiful instrumentals that are found throughout the entirety of the album’s 40 minute runtime.

This is not the first time that Timo Koivusalo has amazed me. His album Pekko Aikamiespolka, which I reviewed all the way back in Jobie Reviews Music 20, also had some pleasurable guitar tunes contained within. This album manages to be even better than that one, with it topping Pekko Aikamiespolka in terms of instrumentation.

Some of my favorites from this album include “Kotkat lentää”, “Värkeissä varaa”, “Hyvää iltaa isänmaa”, and the titular track, “Aina on notkosta noustu”.

Overall, you need to listen to this album if you’re a fan of Finnish folk. The album is deliciously filled with soft guitar melodies which are sure to amaze!
