Jobie Reviews Music 55: The Greatest Shits (album) by S.C.A.T. Requested by F63.

The Greatest Shits is a 2017 pornogrind album by the band S.C.A.T. It contains 18 tracks, totaling 30 minutes of music. It’s also the first pornogrind album I’ve reviewed since Jobie Reviews Music 23 (Can’t Resist the Astrocock). With 31 reviews under my belt since then, I don’t mind the vocals that much this time around. Sure, the inhuman sounds make it impossible to understand the lyrics, but I think focusing on lyrics in pornogrind is a bit orthodox. So, instead, I’ll be focusing on it without the lyrical content in mind.

Without that out of the way, The Greatest Shits manages to be musically interesting, even despite the unusual vocals. With high energy melodies being present throughout the entirety of the album, you’re sure to have a track or two in here you’ll like. Personally, I like the track “Rectal Sniff”, which is one of many on the album that features INSANE drums in its musical composition. Also, the guitar on the track perfectly compliments the fast-paced drums that it delivers. It’s hard to not appreciate the unforgiving, unhinged melodies that S.C.A.T delivers on this rather interesting album.

Overall, despite what I said in Jobie Reviews Music 23 about my distaste for pornogrind, my music taste has slowly shifted, and I now appreciate the instrumentals on the album more, instead of focusing on just the vocals. Focusing on the vocals in a pornogrind album is like trying to focus on the vocals in an instrumental-only album; pointless and detrimental to one’s enjoyment of it. Give this one a listen if you happen to like the genre.
