A Very Polish Christmas is a 2020 song by the band Sabadu. It is 3 minutes and 28 seconds long. The song is a metal song - or more accurately, a war metal song - and its sound is akin to bands such as Sabaton. That being said, the song is a humorous song which revolves around a fictional account of 1942, wherein “Polish Santa” flies around in a tank and gives gifts.
Most notably, in the beginning of the song, Polish Santa gifts a literal punch to Hitler’s face (which was 100% deserved, given that in 1942 - the year the song is set - World War II was still going on). The rest of the song revolves around the story of Polish Santa’s Christmas 1942, where he delivers gifts to people around the world. He then goes on to kill Hitler himself. A very whimsical song, but still enjoyable.
Aside from the lyrical themes, the song also does well in terms of instrumentation. The guitar and drums, along with the Christmassy tune that the song delivers (especially in the latter half of the song, where a brief metal cover of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” can be heard), makes for an enjoyable Christmas-themed song.
Also, I don’t usually comment on the cover art of songs/albums, but the cover art for this song is awesome. It’s an illustration of Polish Santa himself flying in the night sky on his tank and delivering gifts. It fits the song perfectly (Note: this section doesn’t affect the review score).
Overall, this song is a fun listen all around. Great instrumentation, silly but great theme - just a good song in general.
