Shitbeast is a 2011 pornogrind album by the band Gutalax. It contains 14 songs, spanning 24 minutes of music. The album, as with most pornogrind albums, mostly consists of the lead vocalist making strange noises throughout all the songs. But like I said in my review of The Greatest Shits, the vocals to a pornogrind song are not what you should focus on. It’s the kickass instrumentation that they usually deliver which really matters.
On that note, Shitbeast delivers some powerful guitar madness in its 24 minutes of run time. High-energy, head-bang worthy tracks can be found throughout all 14 of the album’s tracks. Of course, you can’t forget the rapid, fast-paced drums that accompany the tracks. Those are great as well!
The only time the album really shoots itself in the foot is during its first 46 seconds - it's literally a clip of someone taking a shit. For several. Seconds. I think we all can agree the album could’ve done without this, and that nothing would’ve changed if they just left it out. However, the other clips intertwined with the rest of the album I have no issue with.
Overall, this album delivers the fast, intense sound that you’d expect from a pornogrind album. Just skip “Anal Error” if you happen to want to listen to it. Otherwise, this is a great album.
