Jobie Reviews Music 75: Internet Protocol (album) by MASTER BOOT RECORD. Requested by F63.

Internet Protocol is a 2019 avant-garde chiptune album by MASTER BOOT RECORD. It has 7 tracks, spanning 36 minutes of music. The album’s main feature is the clever combination of metal and synth melodies that can be found on each track of the album. The album makes itself known with this sound, having sweet synths on every single track.

Tracks like “Telnet” blend synth and metal very well, with the fast-paced energy of metal and the grooviness of 90s-esque synth melodies. Each track feels unique, with some tracks being high-paced and others being somewhere in between. You’re sure to find a track on here that appeals to you, whether you’re a fan of synth-heavy tracks or metal that’s less on the heavy side.

The album remains of quality from its very first track all the way to its ending track, “Smtp”, which closes off the album nicely. Something about the unique blend of sound that MASTER BOOT RECORD puts out on this album feels like no other album out there.

Some of my favorite tracks from this album include “Telnet”, “Pop3”, and “Irc”.

Overall, this album is a great listen for anyone looking for something unique to listen to. MASTER BOOT RECORD puts out sound that I haven’t yet heard from any other artist. A unique, enjoyable listen all around.
