A Call to Arms is a 2001 acoustic EP by Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution. It is 5 tracks long, spanning 18 minutes and 22 seconds. The EP has a highly unique sound, with various instruments backing up its sound that I haven’t heard anywhere else. It’s probably also worth noting that this was Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution’s debut EP, which, considering the quality of the EP, is quite amazing.
The EP is very jazz-esque in nature, especially with the trumpets that are featured in the EP’s composition. Speaking of, as I mentioned earlier, the EP makes use of a variety of instruments in its instrumentation. Some tracks even feature a violin alongside a multitude of other instruments! It’s the EP’s unique composition that leads to tracks like “It’s A Wonderful Life”, which has a sick trumpet solo.
All of this makes for a very interesting listen, with great vocals to match the already nice instrumentation. I’d listen to this one if you’re interested in hearing something you’ve never heard before.
Some of my favorite tracks from this album include “Here’s to Life”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, and “They Provide the Paint for the Picture-Perfect Masterpiece That You Will Paint on the Insides of your Eyelids” (yes, that’s actually the title a song from this album).
Overall, A Call to Arms is a great debut album from Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution. It makes itself stand out with its instrumentation that incorporates several instruments into its composition, all while having good vocals to match. Listen to this one if you’re looking for something different.
