Album Title Goes Here (listed on most platforms as “> album title goes here <”, is a 2012 progressive house album by deadmau5. It is 13 tracks long, spanning 1 hour and 21 minutes of music. The album features (mostly) instrumental tracks, with some having an interesting composition and feel to them.
However, this album can sometimes be a hit or miss in terms of musical quality. For example, the track “Maths” has a slightly annoying, high pitched electronic sound that is especially annoying towards the beginning of the track. Other tracks simply have nothing remarkable about them, like the track “October”.
What I haven’t talked about yet are the tracks that actually do have vocals - those being “Professional Griefers”, “Sleepless”, “Failbait”, and “Telemiscommunications”. These tracks mostly range from alright to good, but only “The Veldt” sticks out to me as a remarkable track, which has a composition which somehow doesn’t get old or tiring throughout its 8 minute runtime. Even the 11 minute version of this track (which isn’t on this album) is pretty good.
As for the rest of the album, there’s really nothing much to say. Some tracks don’t offer much in terms of varied and interesting instrumentation. What I’m trying to say is that some of the tracks on this album feel like just that - tracks. Not remarkable, but also not terrible.
Some of my favorite tracks from this album include “Take Care of the Proper paperwork”, “Professional Griefers”, and “The Veldt - 8 Minute Edit”.
Overall, while sometimes being a hit or miss, Album Title Goes Here is a decent listen full of well-made (but not always great) electronic tunes. It has a few good tracks, with some even having an interesting “feel” to them, but it unfortunately doesn’t have enough good tracks to warrant a higher rating.
