Fast Forward is a 2012 twee pop album by Liechtenstein. The album contains 11 tracks, spanning 33 minutes and 27 seconds of music. The album is full of tracks which are nicely done, with good instrumentation and vocals being the main highlight of the album. This mainly stems from the album’s use of a variety of good sounding instruments, such as a bass guitar and a trumpet, just to name a few.
The tracks on this album also have good lyrics, sung graciously by the lead singer. Some tracks are fairly upbeat, while others, like “An Old Beginning”, could almost be considered melancholic.
The album’s overall sound is feel-good in nature, with catchy tunes enhanced by the great vocals encompassing the album. The album also sometimes brings a bass guitar (as previously mentioned) to the forefront, with tracks like “No Idealists Left” highlighting the bass guitar the best.
The album certainly doesn’t have any weak points either. Each track is a fairly catchy twee pop melody, with great instrumentation and, as said twice already, good vocals. No one track brings down the album, but a few tracks certainly enhance the album. Such is the case with “Passion For Water”, a track that has all the strengths of the previous tracks, but sounds better overall.
Some of my favorite tracks from this album include “Passion For Water”, “No Idealists Left”, and “An Old Beginning”.
Overall, Fast Forward is a catchy album, filled with tracks that have quality instrumentation, vocals, and an overall great sound. The accessible sound lends itself to the multilayered instrumentation that the album has to offer, as well as the fact that all 11 tracks are able to have the same, or even better, quality as on another. Nicely done.
