The song relies mostly on percussion instruments throughout its runtime, with a few stringed instruments audible as well. The song is very anthem-like, with harmonized choruses being one of its main qualities. The vocalists deliver a powerful performance on this single, with well-performed solo segments being present throughout the song. The aforementioned choruses work insanely well with the percussion-driven instrumentation, making for an enjoyable listen. The song is very reminiscent of Power’s 2018 single, “We All Lift Together”, which also had a percussion focus, and was very anthem-esque in nature. Like that single, the chorus in “Sleeping in the Cold Below” easily gets stuck in your head, making for an all-round memorable song. Overall, “Sleeping in the Cold Below” further demonstrates the ability of Power to make memorable, anthem-esque songs, which are well worth several relistens. The vocal performance compliments the instrumentation very well, creating an enjoyable listening experience.
