Toree 2 (Original Game Soundtrack) is a 2021 soundtrack album by The Red Panda. Obviously created for the game of the same name, the album follows in the footsteps of Kamikaze Bitch's excellent work on the soundtrack for Toree 3D, improving upon the sound of that album, while still keeping the “retro video game” feel of the Toree 3D soundtrack. If you loved the synth-driven tracks on Toree 3D's soundtrack, you'll certainly want to give this album a listen. The synths are turned Up to Eleven (amplified) on this album, creating a wonderful sound that feels retro and modern. The added touches (such as the digital drums on “Lunar Lasers”) make each track pop, standing tall even outside the context of Toree 2. “Its Home” is a standout track on the album, which has an orchestral, dramatic feel, complete with all sorts of instruments – including the album's only usage of a violin. It demonstrates to me that The Red Panda clearly knows how to be versatile, as the track sounds great all-round, and even gets reprised in “Its Last Laugh”, this time with a dubstep-esque sound. One of the best tracks on the album is “Sparkle Park (I Wanna Love U). Vocalist Syiona, who debuted the same year of this album's release, adds extra enjoyment to this already amazing track with her wonderful vocal delivery. It's no surprise to see, then, that, out of all 13 tracks on the album, it is the track with the most plays at 5,777* (but it deserves a lot more!). Overall, with Toree 2 (Original Game Soundtrack), The Red Panda surpasses the Toree 3D soundtrack in enjoyability and versatility, with tons of extra touches added to each track that make each one pop. If you liked the Toree 3D soundtrack, you should certainly give this soundtrack a listen as well. It improves upon Kamikaze Bitch's sound in many ways, while still retaining the same “retro” feel that made that soundtrack great.
