Since this soundtrack is divided into two discs, I am allowed four favorites per disc. In the case of this album, that means a total of eight favorites.
This is my 200th music review! I appreciate the continued enthusiasm about my reviews, and anyone who has read, even if only one, of my many reviews. Here's to 200 more music reviews!

Bloodborne Original Soundtrack is a 2015 soundtrack album by the SIE Sound Team. It is a soundtrack to the video game of the same name, released nearly a month before the soundtrack was officially, digitally released. The sound of the album, like most soundtracks for fantasy games and movies, takes on an orchestral sound, with a wide array of instruments (mostly stringed instruments) being present on the soundtrack. The stringed instruments on this soundtrack, reflecting the tone of the game, have a dark, baritone sound. Tracks have a tendency to swell, build suspense, and, in general, pair with whatever happens in the game. Perhaps the best part of the soundtrack are the boss themes that are featured on it. Because the sound is expected to soundtrack an intense, epic fight, the soundtrack mirrors this, with tracks taking on the personality of the bosses being fought. Perhaps the best example of this is the track “Rom, the Vacuous Spider”, featuring strange, monster-like noises mixed in with the many instruments present on the track. The vocals on the soundtrack consist entirely of opera-like, larger-than-life vocals, which pair well with the aforementioned orchestral sound of the soundtrack. An especially beautiful example of the vocals that can be found on this soundtrack is the track “Moonlit Melody”, which is also one of the few tracks on the album that could be considered soothing. Out of the 25 songs on the soundtrack, the song “Lullaby for Margo” is the only one that isn't an orchestral track. As can be inferred from the title, the song takes on a lullaby sound. Don't let the title fool you, though: it's actually a pretty creepy track. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard “Lullaby for Margo” in a pitch black room, with no furniture in it other than an empty baby crib. My favorite tracks, from Disc 1, are: “Omen”, “The Hunter”, “Blood-starved Beast”, and “Amygdala”. From Disc 2: “Moonlit Melody”, “Micolash, Nightmare Host”, “Queen of the Vilebloods”, and “Moon Presence”. Overall, the Bloodborne Original Soundtrack, with its intense, orchestral sound, and operatic vocals, is a fitting and excellent soundtrack for the game of the same name. You don't even need to know anything about the game to enjoy the soundtrack.
