I fucking love my life is a 2019 folk album by Faber. For the first time since my review of Mongol Shuudan's Steam Locomotive Anarchy Reincarnation*, I'm reviewing a non-English album. I fucking love my life is in German, and is likely the first German album reviewed across both Jobie Reviews Music and Jobie's Bite-Sized Music Reviews. The album's sound can best be described as folky, jazzy, and classical affair. For the album's instrumental sections, Faber uses a classical, orchestral sound that serves as a bridge between tracks. These are very well executed, and are quite nice to listen to. For the album's main, non-instrumental tracks, Faber mostly incorporates a “folk” sound, often blending what one would consider the traditional sound of the genre with other genres. For instance, “Highlight” starts off classical and becomes more folkish later on, while “Generation YouPorn” is a blend of folk and jazz elements, creating an interesting texture. However, some tracks, such as “Nie wieder”, don't follow this sound – in the case of “Nie wieder”, the track is more of a retro-rock, jazzy ordeal. The point is, Faber's instrumentals on this album have lots of variance, and a lot of texture. Vocally, Faber's vocals on this album are excellent. Whenever he sings slowly, he has this deep, baritone voice, that goes along perfectly with whatever instrumentals he happens to be singing over. There is much emotion present in Faber's voice, especially during the track “Das Boost ist voll”. Lyrically, the album mostly seems to be about love (I.e, “Top”, that has the lyrics “I look at you and you look tops/Baby look at me and take your top off”), as well as the life of the singer (such as the track “Nie wieder”: “Never again/No more cocaine”)**. Most of the tracks on the album are fairly well-written. My favorite tracks from I fucking love my life are “Ouverture”, “Jung un dumm”, “Sag mir wie du heisst – Pt. 1”, “Generation YouPorn”, and “Nie wieder”. Overall, I fucking love my life is a great folk album from Faber. With its instrumentals that blend folk and other genres together, classical bridges, and all in all variance in texture, as well as Faber's excellent vocals, I am certain that most people will enjoy this album.
